Dog Collars
Even though some people might think that dog collars are simply restrictive and sometimes mean to put on dog, dog owners who truly understand the value of these collars know that having them is beneficial to ensuring the safety of your dog.
Here are a couple of ways collars help keep your dog safer:
· Place tags on them – Having dog collars for your dogs is a good idea because you are able to place dog tags on the collars. When you get a dog tag for your dog, include all of the vital information that a person might need if your dog gets lost and somebody finds it – at the very least the dog’s name and your address. But it would be even better if you also included other contact information like your phone number and e-mail address. Doing this will greatly increase the likelihood of your dog being returned if he/she gets lost.
· Put the leash on them – You can use the collar in order to hook the leash on. While there are some times and places where your dog may not need a leash, there definitely are some other times when you are going to want to make sure your dog is leashed. Then you can protect your dog from running away or running into traffic. If there is no immediate danger of either of these things (and no leash law posted), then it is okay to not use the leash, but for the most part you should plan on using it.
Remember that dog collars are not restrictive. In all actuality, they are great at keeping your dogs safe.
