Pet Supplies FAQs

How many dog toys does my pet really need?

The answer to this really might depend quite a bit on how much you play with or plan to play with your dog. Although dogs can play with toys by themselves for a few moments, they quickly get bored with them if they have nobody else to play with. This is why it is important for you to make time for your dog so that you can help him to learn and grow as well as feel loved. If you have a lot of time to devote to your dog, go ahead and get several toys that you can enjoy together. But if you only have a few minutes a day, there is no use to buy more than two or three dog toys.

What are the most important factors when considering what kind of dog food to buy?

Buying dog food should entail a little more work from you than simply going to the store, throwing a bag over your shoulder, going home and dumping it into your dog’s bowl. Before you buy any food, it is best to consider exactly what it is that your dog needs. For example, if you have a growing puppy in need of physical and cognitive stimulant, there are food especially made for puppies that provide this. On the other hand, if you are looking for a different type of food for an older dog who may be a little overweight, there are foods that you can buy that will not put as much weight on the dog and with a little exercise can actually help him to slim down a bit.

How often do I need to groom my dog?

Dogs need to be groomed often, bit not always for the reasons that you might think. For example, some dogs need to be groomed often because they have bugs like fleas or ticks that attach themselves to the dogs. In this way, the grooming has nothing to do about being pampered and more about being healthy. Of course, there are other occasions when the dog owner simply wants to pamper his or her dog. There is nothing wrong with this. In fact, a pampered dog might in fact be a happier as well as a healthier dog. And that is good for everybody.
